Free Life Coach - 4 Sources for Quality Coaching
A free life coach may seem a little too good to be true. After all, if a free life coach were offered for free, many of us would start to question the qualifications of such a life coach. Typically, the more experienced life coaches will come with higher fees, with the hope that the success from the coach will rub off on the customer. But the question remains, is there a source for beneficial life coaching at low or no cost?
In order to answer this question, we will take a look at some sources for free life coaching. Again, the most important component of these recommendations is that these are beneficial life coaching sources. After all, coaching that will not benefit your life, it not worth pursuing, regardless if it is free of charge.
Option 1) Don't Call it a Life Coach
Although the term life coach is fairly new, it unfortunately some times come with a hefty price tag. After all, if someone were coaching your life, they certainly will not want to give this away from free. However, using the term "mentor" may get you free advice from a professional, without having to pay. For example, some management professionals may be much more willing to be a mentor for an up and coming manager than they would be willing to be a free life coach. In fact, this mentor may take the offer to share his/her life experiences as a compliment.
Option 2) Look for Free Advice Online
As a result of the growth of websites such as YouTube.com, there are additional resources available for free. If we go back to the management example, there are several videos available from life coaches and people with tons of experience in your area of interest, who are willing to give this away for free. Some life coaches may use these types of sites as a valuable resource to advertise their services by giving away some free advice. This may be enough to address the question you are looking to answer.
Option 3) Certified Life Coaches in Training
With the expansion of personal life coaches as a profession, some organizations are looking for ways to ramp up their experience in the field of life coaching. As part of the certification process, some schools use internships with existing companies to provide some real world experience to their students. The grading for these life coaches are dependant of responses from the people receiving the free coaching.
Option 4) Friends and Family
Long before the invention of life coaches, many of us went to friends and family for advice. Unfortunately, many family members have not been through similar experiences, so therefore, cannot offer beneficial advice. However, it may be surprising to poll for responses from friends and family. Although their experience may have been in a different industry or at a different time, sometimes their years of experience will be beneficial (and free).
A Life Coach can be free and beneficial. Unfortunately, with the excellent marketing of some life coaches, it is common to feel as if the experience of a particular life coach is the only source that will help us through a particular dilemma. As a result, some of us throw money at the problem in hopes of getting advice from a particular life coach. However, if we look a bit outside the box and review other options for advice, we can get the feedback we need to get us through difficult times and enhance our lives.
